While not every semi-automatic pistol model can be covered in print, even in a book like this, the representative range here is close enough to many other designs to get you through the assembly and disassembly of guns not listed. As a working gunsmith, this series is invaluable when guns I haven't worked on before, or rarely work on, some into the shop.

This new version is an amazing resource for just about any auto pistol you couldimagine having. I am an RSO and I keep it with me on the range to help diagnose problemsshooters might have with their pistols.

Does not cover many firearms, such as Taurus products. Tried twice to order the one with the cover that says Taurus firearms are covered but kept getting the one that does not cover Taurus. Otherwise good information although also sketchy on covering S&W.

The book has illustrated step by step procedures for disassembling and reassembling a large number of semiautomatic pistols. The steps are easy to understand and should provide aid to any number of people.

Couldn't find any info for detailing stripping a Walther P380. Found this book which had great info on lots of handguns. Very satisfied with the information provided.

Very informative but the pages seem flimsy so I plan to take good care of it so I will get lots of use from it.

Very interesting, and having gone on a 5 hour ballistic sub ("boomer") ride, it filled in lots of the blanks. However, because technology has changed so much since the book was written, it's a bit out of date. Clancy did, obviously, get lots of first-hand knowledge about the subs and the submariners, and conveys the information well and in an interesting way. The photos from Clancy's collection, and others from John Gresham, are interesting but also dated in terms of both sub tech and photo quality. Was a little surprised that info on the US sub fleet ended mid-book and Clancy then picked up on the Brit fleet. Interesting comparisons and contrasts between the two countries, however.

I'm writing a novel that includes a scene inside a nuclear attack submarine and wanted to get a feel for what subs are like inside and how they operate. "Submarine" by Tom Clancy, although somewhat dated, gave me all the detail I needed to write the scene I have in mind. Great military reference!

This book is as accurate as it can possibly be. Mr. Clancy takes us thru the birth of a submarine from its inception to its final build then to when she becomes home to its crew. Mr. Clancy does an excellent job of giving us a glimpse of what it is like to serve on board one of these extraordinary craft and the training and dedication that it takes to crew one of them. If you are fascinated by military craft then this book is for you. Mr. Clancy hasn't let us down yet even with his non-fiction books. RIP sir you are truly missed.

Another great book. A friend has a son deployed on a sub. He has told me that he knows nothing about his sub or what they do. I told him to read this book and then he would know everything he wants to know.

Even though this is not one of his fictional yarns, Clancy has clearly done his homework. Over the decades he has made many friends in high places in the U.S. military who share their long experience and knowledge with him... to the great benefit of his readers. I grew up in Norfolk, Virginia, and have been on many subs through the years. This book was right on and a pleasure to read. Needs to be updated now, though, with the advances in the nuclear subs.

Too many military abreviatiions, but interesting tours thru the boats themselves.

While I love Clancy's fiction his overview of the subs of the world is sadly lacking in both depth and content

I don't know how it stands up as military history, but it was the first of Clancy's nonfiction books that I read. It has sentimental value for me, so it had to find a home on my bookshelf.
