This was hard to rate. For the most part and for many, many pages, I thought: "this is nothing new," "these are cliche' statements," and the book isn't worth the money I paid for it. Of course, if it leads to even one shift in thought, it could be worth a fortune. Well, the fortune is yet to be seen, but I will say that the author pointed out one thing that did make an impact on the way I take action. I never suspected nor thought that it is, in fact, pride that often stops me--from pitching, emailing, communicating. So, now, if I suspect that pride is stopping me from something, I can call it out, push it aside and move forward. In my case, "Pride goeth before the fall" is clearly more like "Pride causeth me to stall."
I am so thankful that Greg Link referred this book to me! I became energized, inspired and motivated to keep going with my upcoming product launch while reading this book. All entrepreneurs wonder, "Is this a good idea?" Or "What am I doing" at various points of their pursuit to launch their idea. I think one of the quotes in this book that I found so memorable in this book was that you only have 2 things that you can add to your person or to increase yourself. The books you read and the people you know. All the rest is glitter and fake charm like cars and toys.
It only took one read and I love this book. Anyone in any leadership position, or position of influence, should read this. Moreover, anyone looking for motivation to do something different (dare I say Stupid) can benefit from his words. Great Book...highly recommend it!
